| Annual party was held in the second floor hall of Gakushi-Kaikan with participants of about 50. Mr.Konoike, President of UCBJAA, reported activities and budgets in the fiscal year of 2006, as well as a modification in the rules of UCBJAA and appointment of the directors, which were approved unanimously. Then, Dr. Yumi Akimoto, Chief Executive Emeritus, Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, made a special lecture entitled "What to do about the global environment, - Gaia and Plutonium" which made the participants recognize the present crisis of Global Warming. After the lecture participants enjoyed a reunion party starting with a toast by Mr. Kondo, former President. | ||

Reports by Mr. Konoike Activities in the fiscal year, 2006 April 1 PAC-4 Cherry Blossom Party at the Shinjyukugyoen Park. April 10 CITRIS Lecture at Akihabara UDX Bldg. April 12 Welcome Party with Profs. from CITRIS at Gakushi-Kaikan May 23 Dr. Zhao QuanShen's Lecture at Foreign Press Center May 28 PAC-4 Flag Football & barbecue party June 16 Annual Party and Welcome-Party for Mr. Lurie, Executive Director of International House at Berkeley. Dr. Sadako Ogata, JICA, made a speech about her career. Ms. Maekawa played the piano and sang her original songs. At Tokyo American Club. About 140 participants. August 26 Welcome-Party for Exchange-Students at FUNGO, Shinjyuku. November 16 The 4th Balt Hall (Law School) Conference with Prof. John MacNulty, Tax Law, at LINTARO restaurant. 30 participants. December 16 Welcome-Party for Julia Hsiao and Emy Ambrose, International Development at Berkeley, at Tokyo American Club. In 2007 January 28 New Year's Party at FUNGO Shinjyuku Other meetings invited were of Stanford Alumni, USC Alumni, San Diego Bus. Alumni and MIT Alumni. Meetings by directors of Alumni Association were held in April, June, October, November in 2006 and March in 2007. Plan for Activities in the fiscal year 2007 1)Directory of Members will be published in July. 2)Web Site will be improved so as to be utilized. Reduction in the mailing cost and betterment of service for members. 3)Increasing the number of registered members to 400. Our goal is to balance the annual budget by reinforcing the organization and reducing expenditure. 4) As in 2006, one reinforces planned activities. Directors in charge of each task should have closer contact with Berkeley Campus. Lecture meetings are encouraged. 5)As in the previous year, welcome-party for exchange-students will be held in August. 6)Reinforce younger generations and activate the Alumni Association. Budget reports are omitted. |

With a toast by Mr. Tetsuo Kondo, former President of the Alumni Association, reunion party started. Members of various generations enjoyed the party exchanging information as well as delicious food and drinks. |
